Since 1976 he has instructed many private pupils some of whom currently play with the Lanarkshire Cecilian Orchestra. Peter has introduced some players to the Orchestra this session and is most enthusiastic about progress this year. Marie, was the longest serving (and a founding) member of the Orchestra, having joined the string section as a young woman. Marie and her sister, who played the piano, were the only two female members of the Orchestra at that time.
Marie rarely missed a Thursday rehearsal and enjoyed the company of others she played with each week. She got a thrill from performing in front of an audience and liked to see new members, particularly young ones, joining the group.
Our hearts go out to Marie’s family and our thoughts and prayers are with them all at this sad time.
